SRC Bistra Ptuj (Scientific Research Centre Bistra Ptuj)

SRC Bistra Ptuj (Scientific Research Centre Bistra Ptuj) is the first officially registered interdisciplinary research institution in Slovenia. SRC Bistra Ptuj is a scientific research institute and a development institute whose aim is a substantive promotion of the developmental distinction of the operating area on all fields and according to internationally comparable criteria.
SRC Bistra Ptuj presents a supporting structure of the developmental environment of the region, intended for local communities and enterprises. It forms a creative research space between economy and the academic sphere.

Our aims:

  • Care for the promotion of the developmental distinction of the local area of the Central Podravje region on an internationally comparable level;
  • Communication and transfer of knowledge from universities and institutes into economy and small enterprises;
  • Co-creation of development ideas of enterprises and their transfer to research institutions.

SRC Bistra employs a wide range of experts for the entire research sphere (the research group is composed of 8 PhD’s), moreover, Bistra’s employees cover various branches such as economy, geology, chemistry, law, tourism, and are actively present on all fields of regional development.
The mission of the research group from the field of natural science and technology is based on the creation of new fundamental and applicable knowledge in chemistry, biotechnology, ecology and other scientific and technical disciplines.
Our vision is the initiation of new knowledge into praxis in order to raise the quality of life for traders and local institutions in terms of regulation and implementation.
The main goal of the research group is the communication and transfer of know-how from universities and institutes into economy, assistance in the creation of new ideas for entrepreneurs and the realisation of these ideas, as well as carrying out final processes within such projects.
Due to its cooperation (as partner or lead partner) in more than 20 international projects, SRC Bistra Ptuj is among the most experienced project organisations in Slovenia. Some of the projects:
